What is NLP?

NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is a model that defines how to fast track success by working through your unconscious mind. Most people are unsure of how they achieve results. Do you know how you have become successful and achieve results in your life? What if you did and could replicate that over and over again. Wouldn’t that be powerful?

We are programmed from birth to adopt unconscious strategies of those around us via a process of osmosis. Some of these habits may augur well in our lives today. Co-founded by a Professor of Linguistics, Dr. John Grinder and a computer scientist, Richard Bandler, NLP is a language of influence and a model of how to reprogram yourself for better results. It is an epistemologywhere we learn how we know what we know.

We have unconscious strategies for everything we do. So NLP can be defined as a model of how to replicate talent. The field emerged in the late 70’s from observation and coding of performers who were doing excellence in their lives.

NLP delivers a clear pathway to making behaviour change, whatever it is that you feel may propel you to achieve results and develop a winning mindset. There are simply four leverage points to change behaviour:

  • Filters – values, beliefs, time, memories
  • Senses – pictures, sounds and feelings of experience
  • State of mind that a person is in
  • Physiology of a person

Working with the context, process and structure of an individual’s experience results in fast, efficient and profound results as we work outside of the content. Solutions are usually found outside rather than inside the issue and NLP gives us models to do this.
